Air Source Heatpumps

Air Source Heat Pump PowerNaturally pride themselves researching the products we supply so that we only provide our clients with what we feel are the best, most efficient heat pumps on the market. This is why we have chosen to use Mitsubishi Ecodan, Daikin Altherma, Nibe and Dimplex Air Source Heat Pumps as they are all excellent products which have different strengths for different applications. Please look at their individual pages to see further information about them. It is becoming common knowledge that ground source heat pumps have high efficiency levels but less market momentum has been gained over air source heat pumps and the significantly higher levels of efficiency they can provide when compared to traditional methods of heating our homes. Although air source heat pumps can still boost efficiency levels of up to 4:1 in best conditions and practice.

How Air Source heat Pumps Work:

Unlike gas or oil boilers, heat pumps deliver heat at lower temperatures over much longer periods. This means that during the winter we would recommend they be left on 24/7 to heat your home efficiently. It means that radiators will never feel as hot to the touch as they would do when using a gas or oil boiler.

Air source heat pumps extract heat from the outside air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside. Heat from the air is absorbed into a fluid which is pumped through a heat exchanger in the heat pump. Low grade heat is then extracted by the refrigeration system and, after passing through the heat pump compressor, is concentrated into a higher temperature useful heat capable of heating water for the heating and hot water circuits of the house.
